Kalevala
Learn about Kalevala, the 19th century work of epic poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Finnish and Karelian oral folklore and mythology. Kalevala is regarded as the national epic of Finland and is one of the most significant works of Finnish literature. FinnFest 2011 will present this Finnish national folklore through lectures and film. Kalevala will be also portrayed for children through Kantele lessons and storytelling.
