Finnish art will be very visible at the Town & Country Resort during FinnFest 2011, and also in Balboa Park during August, which has been declared by the Mayor of San Diego as the Month of Finland.
On display at the Town & Country will be exhibitions of glass, photographs and paintings submitted by both Finnish and Finnish-American artists. Balboa Park’s Gallery 21 will display fantastic art works by five Finnish artists, and the Finnish Design Exhibit “Northern Stars” can be taken in at the Mingei International Museum.
As all themes in FinnFest 2011 the objective is to honor the traditions of Finnish culture and especially showcase the side of modern Finland, such as GreenTech through recyclable design.
